Mueller's Aldrich Street to Welcome New Businesses, Enhancing Community Appeal

AUSTIN, Texas — The Mueller community, a prominent mixed-use development in Austin, will see an expansion with the arrival of four new businesses on Aldrich Street, further establishing the area as a bustling destination for diverse dining, shopping, and wellness experiences. The new entrants — Buddy Bear, CorePower Yoga, Little Ola’s Biscuits, and Vaura Pilates — are set to join an already vibrant mix of local establishments.

Buddy Bear

Buddy Bear, a children's boutique, emerges as an extension of Lilla & Beth, a well-known store in the community. Megan Cooper, a Mueller resident and longtime director of Lilla & Beth, will lead Buddy Bear. Cooper noted the store would meet long-standing demands for children's clothing and gifts, saying, "We're so thrilled about the expansion of our existing Lilla & Beth kids’ section into its own dedicated space in Buddy Bear."

CorePower Yoga

CorePower Yoga, a staple in the U.S. fitness landscape with over 200 studios nationwide, will open a location at the corner of Simond Avenue and Aldrich Street in the newly completed Parkside condo building. Abby Gilbertson, Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Development at CorePower Yoga, highlighted the decision, emphasizing the integration of outdoor amenities and the mix of residential and commercial offerings in Mueller. "Mueller is a perfect place for CorePower Yoga," Gilbertson said, underlining the area's suitability for community building and health.

Little Ola’s Biscuits

Little Ola’s Biscuits will occupy a spot across from Mueller Lake Park, replacing the recently vacated Halcyon space. Founded by renowned Austin chef Michael Fojtasek, the eatery will feature a blend of biscuits and a full coffee program. Ben Fordham, CEO of MaieB Hospitality, expressed enthusiasm for the location, stating, "The district already has a great mix of amazing shopping and dining options, and we knew instantly that our new Little Ola’s Cafe would be a perfect fit."

Vaura Pilates

Vaura Pilates, originating from Australia, plans to open its second U.S. studio, offering comprehensive pilates classes. The studio aims to provide a modern fitness experience with amenities including showers and changing facilities.

Recent and Anticipated Openings

Recent additions to Aldrich Street such as Chuy's, Honest Mary's, and Nando's, along with anticipated openings like Hopdoddy Burger Bar, underscore Mueller's growth as a food-centric locale. The community has also welcomed Modern Animal, a general practice veterinary clinic, further diversifying the services available.

Leasing and Future Plans

Sergio Negrete, responsible for leasing on Aldrich Street for Catellus, the master developer of Mueller, expressed satisfaction with the burgeoning retail landscape. "Our goal is to provide our residents and the city of Austin with a carefully curated, highly desired destination at Aldrich Street," Negrete said, underlining the district's dedication to promoting local businesses and job creation.

Community Appeal

Aldrich Street, anchored by amenities such as the Alamo Drafthouse and the Thinkery children's museum, continues to draw visitors with its two award-winning parks and a vibrant Texas Farmers' Market. Convenient parking arrangements facilitate access for visitors, contributing to Aldrich Street's year-round appeal.

Mueller Development

Mueller, a partnership project between the City of Austin and Catellus Development, continues to redefine urban living with its emphasis on mixed-income housing, commercial spaces, and public parks.
